Terms of Service
Last updated July 2026
These terms govern your use of houdhoud.com. By using the site you agree to them. We've kept them short. If anything here is unclear, email hello@houdhoud.com.
The service
houdhoud.com is a baby-name discovery tool. It suggests names and can generate an optional Name Story document combining meaning, origin, verified Qur'an references, and personalization. Suggestions are produced with the help of an AI model and are informational, not advice. The site is currently free to use.
Houdhoud is AI-assisted software — not a person, and not a religious authority. Nothing on the site is a religious ruling, a legal opinion, or professional advice of any kind.
As-is, no warranty
The service is provided 'as is' and 'as available,' without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that any specific name is the 'right' name for any specific family, or that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available in your region.
We work hard on accuracy, and the about page describes the sourcing rules we follow. If you find a mistake, tell us at hello@houdhoud.com — but we don't warrant that the information is error-free.
Personal use only
The Name Story document, the recommendations, and the calligraphy we generate are for your personal and family use. You may print them, share them with friends and relatives, and frame them on a wall. You may not:
- Resell or redistribute the Name Story document, in whole or in part.
- Use the content for commercial purposes, including reselling names on another platform, training a machine-learning model, or incorporating it into a product.
- Scrape the site at scale or use automated tools to bulk-extract names data.
Orders and refunds
The site is free to use during the current preview, so there's nothing to refund. If paid Name Stories are offered later, a refund policy will apply and will be linked from this page and the footer.
Refusal of service
We may refuse or end service for any reason, including abuse, fraud, automated misuse, or content that violates these terms. If we ever refuse a paid order, we'll refund it.
Intellectual property
The brand, design, copy, and original calligraphy templates on houdhoud.com are ours. The names and Qur'anic verses themselves aren't — they belong to the language and the tradition. Quotations from the Qur'an are sourced from the Tanzil project (text) and Saheeh International (English translation, 1997); their respective licensing terms apply.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or US$10, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages.
Disputes
If you have a dispute, email hello@houdhoud.com first — we'll try to resolve it directly, and most things can be sorted out that way. These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which houdhoud.com is operated.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The 'Last updated' date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the site after changes are posted means you accept the new terms.
